IGI 2: Covert Strike is a computer game developed by Innerloop Studios and released by Codemasters in 2003. The game is a stealth-based first person shooter. It is the sequel to Innerloop’s Project I.G.I.: I’m Going In. The original, published by Eidos Interactive, offered only single-player play. Chris Ryan, a former Special Air Service operative best known for being the lone successful escapee of Bravo Two Zero, served as a consultant to the game.
The game’s plot features a rogue Chinese General, “Wu Xing” as the primary antagonist. Xing orchestrates various events (such as armed robbery of advanced prototype technology from the Russian mafia) in order to get electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weaponry on a space rocket that he has launch control over.
The game was banned in China, because it “intentionally blackened China and the Chinese army’s image”. The box art is similar to the poster for GoldenEye.
As the Cold War drew to a close, the world believed that peace reign in the world. It seemed that a new era had dawned, an era of lasting unity among nations, but this was not the case. Instead of the struggle for world supremacy had only seen forced underground in the field of covert operations and the evil deeds of terror.
Amidst this scenario a new force emerged. Masked behind the appearance of subterfuge, plausible deniability and information management, the Institute for Intelligence Geotactical raised the sword against those who subjugate the world. Although the malignancy of terrorism has broken our world on the occasion, the global pot still over flowed into WWIII. To thank the one man army David Jones and heroes forever-unrecognized IGI.
A silent takedown will give a significant advantage. There will be many points in the game where you are encouraged to use subtlety and intelligence, rather than brute force, in order to overcome an obstacle. Continuing from where the first game left off, Jones is once again at the forefront of preventing international terrorism, world catastrophe and betrayal at the highest level. 19 campaign missions in real-world locations on three continents, ranging from total base assaults to covert surveillance and infiltration; thefts and escapes in outdoor and indoor environment, urban and rural. More than 30 guns and other weapons from the real world accurately modeled, such as knives, pistols, assault rifles and sniper secondary machine guns, mini-guns, rocket launchers and grenades. You are a hero – a lone agent capable and highly skilled inserted deep into enemy territory against overwhelming odds.
IGI 2 game is very popular among games’ lovers. It is very interesting first person shooter game with different missions and targets. There are a lot of weapons such as machine pistol, AK-47 and much more. I like the sniper gun a lot in this game. You can aim a target from far away. Keep yourself save from enemies because you have no insurance from any company.Don’t worry and enjoy the game as more as you can.
