PuTTY is basically very helpful for the people using web hosting. You can access your web hosting server in linux environment to perform some basic operations. However, it support the obviously the Command Line Interface.
To access your web hosting server, it is required SSH active from the hosting provider for your account. You can use the same credintials that is used for FTP. You have to enter your Host name or IP address. When you connect it, you will see the black screen like MS-DOS.
Now you are asked the Username and Password. After that, you will be the root directory of your hosting account.
